Design  -  Overview

The design elements of Lane Cove Tunnel Project aim to create a ‘sense of place’ for each local community.

Design principles include:

• Providing architecture that enhances the journey and the surroundings
  
  
• Recognising the different environments experienced by drivers and forewarning them of changes in conditions
  
  
• Undertaking improvements to the civic environment and permeability of Epping Road through Lane Cove
  
  
• Reinforcing the various bushland and other ecologies along the route
  Improving water quality in the vicinity
  
  
• Providing landscape treatments, materials and finishes that are ecologically sound
