Epping Road

A new 3.2km shared cycle and pedestrian path, a new bus interchange and a new pedestrian bridge are under construction at Lane Cove.

What's happening now?

August 2007

  • New 3.2km shared cycle and pedestrian path to be constructed on the southern side of Epping Road/Longueville Road from the Pacific Highway to the Lane Cove River bridge
  • New landscaping, trees and new retaining walls including improvements to the Lane Cove azalea beds
  • New pedestrian crossing at Cox's Lane
  • New right turns from the westbound lanes of Epping Road/Longueville Road to Parklands Avenue and Centennial Avenue
  • Resurfacing of Epping Road/Longueville Road from the Pacific Highway to Mowbray Road West and installation of bus lanes
  • Completion of the new bus interchange and pedestrian bridge on Longueville Road near Parklands Avenue.

  • Traffic barriers in use to create safe work areas
  • Some night work to minimise traffic interruptions (nearby residents will receive information in advance)
  • 60km/h speed limit continues
  • Access for residents and businesses maintained during construction
  • Pedestrian access maintained with diversions around work areas
  • Pedestrian detour in place and signposted from Pacific Highway to Longueville Road westbound using northern side of Longueville Road and pedestrian bridge
  • A minimum of two traffic lanes operating in both directions on Epping Road/Longueville Road.
